Melanie is a Registered Midwife with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of midwifery. She trained in England and has now settled in Western Australia working as a community based midwife. Melanie has always wanted to be a midwife and it wasn’t until after the birth of her first child that she decided to pursue a midwifery education. After qualifying at the University of Manchester in 1999 she worked as a hospital based midwife for the next 5 years gaining a great deal of experience working with a diverse group of women and managing a variety of clinical situations. In 2004 she started work as a Community Midwife providing antenatal, labour and postnatal care as part of a team of midwives. In 2013 she moved to Australia, and again realised that to be able to serve women, babies and their families within Perth, the community would be the ideal place to do so.
